Lawrence Lake Cabin

This 880 square foot cabin replaced a cherished family log cabin lost to fire on the same Central Alberta location. The scale of the new building is only slightly larger, and built out of modern technologies and building practices. The project features structural insulated panel construction to maximize interior spaces on a small footprint. The modern shed roof design and generous windowing takes in lake views and passive solar exposure. The exterior and interior are clad in wood and give the spaces a sense of warmth. Contrasting palettes of cool and warm wood stains compliment the cabin’s wooded location. Some features of the building include in-floor heating, a breezeway connecting the cabin to the garage, an outdoor shower, covered wood storage, and custom tiled shower room.
