Mill Creek Flexhomes

The Mill Creek Flexhomes were designed and developed by Battle Lake Design Group. It is one of the first multi-family projects in Canada to feature straw bale construction technology in a modern and contemporary urban design and context. The three 1200 square foot 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom townhomes feature a high level of design and finish throughout. Notable features include the straw bale wall construction, as well as concrete main floors, exposed wood beams and wood finishing, passive solar design, roof top patios and generous wood exterior finishing.

The project won a 2009 Edmonton Urban Design Award of Merit for Urban Architecture and has been referenced over the years as a notable example of good urban infill architecture.
